Area Woman Creates Detailed Pros/Cons List About Man She Continues Dating Anyway

CHICAGO, IL — Local woman Jenna Morales, 28, confirmed Tuesday that she has created an increasingly detailed pros and cons list evaluating a man she has been dating for several weeks, despite remaining “completely undecided” on whether she actually likes him.
Sources report Morales began the list shortly after their third date, initially jotting down a few light observations such as “funny” under pros and “bad texter” under cons. The document has since evolved into a multi-page evaluation featuring bullet points, subcategories, and what one friend described as “concerning levels of emotional auditing.”
“I’m just trying to be logical about it,” Morales said, adding a new entry under cons labeled “said ‘let’s play it by ear’ once.” “On paper, it’s not great. But also… I don’t know.”
At press time, the pros column reportedly included items such as “makes solid brunch suggestions,” “tall,” and “once remembered a story I told,” while the cons column featured more heavily weighted concerns including “vague about intentions,” “uses ‘haha’ instead of ‘lol,’” and “energy slightly off, can’t explain.”
Friends close to Morales say the list has been reviewed, revised, and redistributed multiple times, often accompanied by texts reading, “Be honest—am I insane?”
“She’ll send it in the group chat like it’s a final draft, and then 20 minutes later she’s like, ‘Wait, add this,’” said friend Taylor Nguyen. “At this point, we’re not sure if she’s dating him or preparing a case file.”
Experts say the behavior is extremely common.
“In uncertain romantic situations, individuals often attempt to impose structure through analysis,” explained Dr. Lila Henderson, a behavioral psychologist. “Unfortunately, no amount of bullet points can override the fact that she is clearly going to keep seeing him.”
Despite acknowledging that the cons “feel significant,” Morales confirmed she has no immediate plans to end the relationship.
“I just need a little more time,” she said, opening a new section titled ‘Neutral / Needs More Data.’ “I feel like I’m close to a decision.”
At press time, Morales had reportedly added “made me laugh last night” to the pros column, effectively resetting the entire evaluation process.
