Man Deletes Social Media For Peace, Redownloads For Attention

BOSTON, MA — In a bold and deeply personal act of self-care, local man Kevin Morales announced Monday that he was “finally done” with social media, citing the need for peace, clarity, and “a return to what actually matters.”

According to sources, Morales deleted all major platforms at approximately 9:14 AM, posted a reflective farewell message about “protecting his energy,” and was last seen going for a contemplative walk.

By 2:37 PM, he had redownloaded every app.

“I just wanted to check one thing,” Morales explained, moments after logging back in and immediately refreshing his notifications. “Not even scroll. Just… see what’s going on.”

Friends confirm Morales has since resumed normal activity, including passive scrolling, strategically timed story posts, and what analysts describe as “light engagement with heavy emotional investment.”

“I do feel more aware now,” Morales said, while checking who viewed his story for the fourth time in six minutes. “Like I understand the problem.”

Digital behavior experts say the phenomenon is part of a broader cycle known as “intentional disengagement followed by immediate re-engagement for validation.”

“It’s not about the platforms,” said one researcher. “It’s about the hope that this time, someone will notice.”

At press time, Morales was reportedly considering another break, stating, “I just need, like, a real reset this time,” before opening the app to post about it.
